DESCRIPTION:National Institute of Aging IMPACT Collaboratory Announces Request for Applications \nJanuary 30\, 2023 – The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Imbedded Pragmatic Alzheimer’s\nDisease (AD) and AD-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory is\nhappy to announce a Request for Applications for the Pilot Grants Program Cycle 5A.\nIn this cycle\, the IMPACT Collaboratory will fund up to five 1-year awards for pilot pragmatic\nclinical trials (ePCTs) that test non-pharmacological interventions embedded in health care\nsystem(s) for people living with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD)\nand their care partners. Pilot Studies will be funded for up to $175\,000 in direct costs for a\nmaximum of 12-months. For more information\, please see our Pilot Grants Program page. \nThe goal of the pilot projects is to generate the preliminary data necessary to design and\nconduct a future full-scale Stage IV effectiveness ePCT (based on the NIH Stage Model) funded\nthrough other grant mechanisms (NIH or other sources). \nThe IMPACT Collaboratory will consider all applications for pilot ePCTs that evaluate\nnon-pharmacological interventions to improve the care of people living with AD/ADRD and their\ncare partners. This grant cycle will prioritize applications for interventions in these populations\nthat aim to: \n\nImprove care through behavioral economics “nudge” interventions;\nReduce inequities in health care;\nReduce potentially inappropriate medications through de-prescribing; or\n Improve care in emergency departments.\n\nInformational Webinar \nAn optional informational webinar will be hosted to provide investigators with an overview of\napplication details and an opportunity to ask questions. SUMMARY:NADRC Webinar | From Dementia to COVID-19: Maintaining Innovations using Data Driven Program Decision Making
DESCRIPTION:Registration is still open for the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center’s next webinar on February 23\, 2023 from 2-3 p.m. ET\, From Dementia to COVID-19: Maintaining Innovations using Data Driven Program Decision Making.  Additional information about the February 23rd  webinar and the registration link can be found here: 2-23-23 NADRC Webinar-From Dementia to COVID-19 \nInnovative dementia programs can be translated and expanded to provide benefits to wider populations and as a vehicle for sustainability. During the COVID-19 pandemic\, Hospital2Home (H2H)\, a highly successful dementia care transitions program\, was translated to provide discharge relief to over taxed hospitals and to prevent readmissions. A data driven approach resulted in a successful collaboration with the County and expansion of H2H to other difficult to discharge complex and vulnerable populations. This webinar will address how data can create a pathway for program expansion and sustainability. \nPlease note: \n\nNADRC webinars are free and open to the public.\nNADRC webinars are recorded and will be posted at https://nadrc.acl.gov/\nPre-registration is required to attend the live webinars\nClosed captioning is available during the live event and is included in the recording for all NADRC webinars.\n\nSpeaker bios can be found at the bottom of this registration page. \nGoals/Learning Objectives:\n1. Participants in this webinar will be provided with an overview about the Hospital2Home program and how it can be used for people living with dementia and their caregivers as well as people with other medical conditions\, including COVID-19.\n2. Participants in this webinar will learn how the Hospital2Home program was expanded during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.\n3. Participants in this webinar will learn about the importance of gathering and analyzing data about their programs to aid in determining aspects of the program to sustain. \n  \nPosted on behalf of National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center.
