NASHP Webinar | Medicaid Structured Family Caregiving Enables Caregivers to Make Caregiving Their Primary Focus
March 8, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) is holding a webinar on March 8, “Medicaid Structured Family Caregiving Enables Caregivers to Make Caregiving Their Primary Focus.”
The webinar will feature a state official who oversees a structured family caregiving (SFC) services waiver program. Some states offer SFC services within their Medicaid program to help Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver participants’ primary caregivers fulfill that role.
The webinar will also feature a representative of the Alzheimer’s Association who will offer their assessment of the approach from caregiver and Medicaid enrollees’ perspective. Participants will learn about state approaches to SFC, key policy considerations in program development and program impact. Speakers include:
- Neva Kaye (moderator), Senior Policy Fellow, NASHP
- Rena Cox, Bureau Chief, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
- Charles Duarte, Nevada Public Policy and Advocacy Director, Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California and Northern Nevada
